The Mid Summer Nights Dream Tour was a world tour by singer Donna Summer. The popularity of her previous year's Endless Summer Tour resulted in this tour, and the staging included copies of Ms. Summer's paintings. In this tour's version of "Dim All the Lights" she told the story of how she wrote the song for Rod Stewart, and then chickened out before approaching him. She sang the song both as she envisioned him singing it, and her own up-tempo version.
