Miguel Gomez[1] (also known by his Rap Alias Aztek Escobar[2]) is an actor and a former hip hop artist born in Santiago de Cali, Colombia.[3] Aztek Escobar was the first artist officially signed to Jay-Z's Roc La Familia Label. Aztek is no longer on Roc La Familia, yet a reason for his departure has not been provided by Aztek nor Def Jam.

Acting

He currently stars in The Strain as Augustin "Gus" Elizalde.[4] He also appeared in the big budget movie Southpaw as Miguel "Magic" Escobar. He plays the main rival of the film's protagonist Billy Hope, played by Academy Award nominated actor Jake Gyllenhaal.[5] In 2012, Gomez guest starred in a season 3 episode of the FX comedy series Louie, in which he received positive reviews for his performance.[6][7]
