Miguel Yisrael (born Miguel Yisrael Serdoura[1][2] 31 March 1973) is a Portuguese–French musician, lutenist, recording artist and entrepreneur, specializing in music for lute, resident in Paris, France.

Biography

Miguel Yisrael is internationally known as a "sensitive, innovative and stylistic rigorous" interpreter of early music. He is a former student of lutenist Hopkinson Smith at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. Yisrael gives concerts and master classes throughout Europe, China, Canada and US. he has written a Method for the Baroque Lute, published in 2008 by Ut Orpheus,[3] in both French and English.[4] Miguel Yisrael's recordings and publications received several awards and he gives solo recitals and master-classes all over Europe, China, Canada and the US.[5] In 2015 he founded the company "Le Luth Doré SAS" for the purpose of promoting lute and its music, through the manufacture of inexpensive instruments and music editions.[6]

In 2008 the Italian publishing house Ut Orpheus published Miguel Yisrael's "Method for the Baroque Lute" ISMN 979-0-2153-1599-0[14]
