Mihai Balan (born 15 February 1954, Trebujeni) is a diplomat from the Moldova who currently serves as head of Information and Security Service of the Republic of Moldova. He was the ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Israel in January-October 2012 and prior to this - ambassador of Moldova to Greece and Cyprus (2010 – 2011). Balan was the Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Moldova (December 15, 2009 - August 2010).[1][2]
Biography
He served as the ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Israel for seven years. He was the Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Moldova (December 15, 2009 - August 2010). In August 2010, Bălan was appointed as ambassador to Greece; Vlad Lupan replaced him as Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Moldova.[3][4][5]
Mihai Balan is married to Ludmila Balan and has two children: Dan Balan and Sanda.
