Michael Alfred "Mike" Anchondo (born April 15, 1982) is an American former professional boxer who held the WBO junior lightweight title.
Professional career
Anchondo turned pro in 2000 and won his first 25 fights including the vacant WBO super featherweight title in 2004 with a decision win over Julio Pablo Chacon, a fight in which Chacón was down in the 12th with two minutes remaining. Anchondo was stripped of the title for not making weight, he lost by 4th round TKO to Jorge Rodrigo Barrios in 2005 (being televised on ESPN2 Friday Night Fights Main Event Special). In 2007, he was upset by former amateur standout Darling Jimenez, dashing any imminent title hopes.
