Guzev Mikhail Aleksandrovich (6 August 1962) is a Russian Mathematician, Mechanician and a Corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2003). Director of Institute of Applied Mathematics of Far-Eastern Branch of RAS.^[1]

Biography

M.Guzev was born in Krasnodar (USSR) in 1962. He was educated in SPbSU (Faculty of Physics), which was completed in 1984.^[2]

Doctor of physical and mathematical sciences (1999).^[3]

In 2003 Guzev was elected a Corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

In 2006 was elected a Director Institute of Applied Mathematics of Far-Eastern Branch of RAS.

Main Research Fields

• Mathematical modelling of the elaso-plastic defect materials;
• Geomechanics.
