Miles Curtis Sesselmann (born 16 January 1995) known by his stage name Mileo is an Multicultural Australian singer, songwriter and recording artist of Asian and European descent.[1]

Personal life

Mileo was born in Sydney, Australia. His parents and family are from a multitude of cultures spanning across Europe and Asia.[2] He has stated that when he was younger he was different from most kids his age, having always been very ambitious.[3] Mileo began singing at a young age, and taught himself piano. He began songwriting and later producing around the age of 14 years.[2] Mileo finished high school, later studying at college and graduating before the age of 18.[3]

Career

In early 2013, Mileo signed with Sony Music Entertainment after flying overseas to meet with his manager.[4] Mileo released his debut single "Echo" on 11 February 2014, which was co-produced by a Norwegian producer Thomas Eriksen.[5] NRJ officially premiered the single "Echo" to radio late February. Since 2014, Mileo had been writing and recording material for his next single and studio album to be released with Sony Music Entertainment Late March 2016, he took to social media to announce his next single, titled Know You Better, which was released on 8 April.[6]

Artistry

Mileo has been compared to artists including Avicii, Sting, Zayn and Shakira for his ethnic-sounding pop music. His music also contains influences of Dance music, Bhangra music AND R&B. Known for his sensual singing style and use of Indian/Arabic Melisma, Mileo's debut "Echo" has prominent atmospheric vibes, critics praise his lyric and vocal content as "relatable" and "emotive" while retaining a sensual almost sexual nature without use of explicit content.[4] [7]
