Mimi Kirkland (born October 15, 2004) is an American child actress best known for her roles in the film adaptation of Safe Haven, where she played the role of Lexie, the TNT series Murder in the First, where she plays the role of Louise Mulligan, and most recently, the Disney Channel series Austin & Ally, where she plays the role of Lily.[1]

Early life and career

Kirkland was born in Raleigh, North Carolina. From her early childhood, she displayed an uncommon enthusiasm for acting. At her pre-school graduation, she declared that she was going to be an actress. She began with TV commercials and eventually auditioned for more significant roles. While Kirkland was shooting a commercial for Biltmore Estate in 2012, the director noticed her creative flair and professionalism—and remarked that she had the potential for television and the silver screen. She made her screen debut in 2013 in Safe Haven after two callbacks to Wilmington, NC, where the auditions were held.

In Safe Haven, Kirkland played Lexie, the daughter of Alex Wheatley (portrayed by Josh Duhamel), the manager of a convenience store who falls in love with the main character portrayed by Julianne Hough. Kirkland began her second major role in the 2014 television series Murder in the First, which is scheduled to start its third season in June 2016. In this series, she plays Louise Mulligan, the inquisitive and precocious six-year-old daughter of detective Hildy Mulligan. In season four of Austin & Ally, she plays Lily, an 8-year-old girl who uses music lessons as a pretext to meet Ally.
