Minembwe
Minembwe is a territory formed near Uvira, South Kivu in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). It were introduced under the administration of the area by the Banyamulenge who live there since 19th century.
Their official status as territory is a source of tension between the different components of the Transitional Government of the DRC in early 2006.[1] Protests have filed in regards to the creation of the two territories from the territory of Fizi by the RDC.[2]
The village also has a university that was founded in 2011 called the Eben-Ezer University of Minembwe.[3]
