Mineola High School is a public high school located in Mineola, Texas in southern Wood County and classified as a 3A school by the UIL. It is a part of the Mineola Independent School District and serves most of the city of Mineola. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.[2]

History

The original high school was opened in 1914 and was destroyed by a fire on March 27, 1924. A new school was built in 1925 and later razed in 1968. This school was located in the 400 block of West Blair Street. In 1968, the present High School was built.

Athletics

Mineola's stadium from 1914-1992 was called Yellowjacket's Stadium. It was replaced in 1992 by Meredith Memorial Stadium.

Band

Mineola High School Band has over 100 members.

Theatre

The theatre department of Mineola High School is known as Act I & Company. Act I & Company has won the UIL One Act Play Championship in conference 3A seven times. Of those 7 championships, 5 were consecutive wins.
