Mirta de Perales
Mirta de Perales (September 2, 1922 – May 3, 2011), born Mirta Raya Casanova in Rancho Veloz, Las Villas Province, Cuba[1] was a hairdresser, cosmetologist and businesswoman. She owned an eponymous brand, Mirta de Perales beauty care products,.[2]
Biography
De Perales owned a beauty parlor at El Vedado, Havana, which advertised on local cinema[3] and lived comfortably there until Fidel Castro's 1959 revolution, after which she was forced, during 1962,[4] to leave the country along with her children, with only $5 dollars in her pocket.[5]
De Perales also had a Sunday evening television show in Cuba, named "Luzca Bien con Mirta" (literally speaking "Look Good With Mirta")[6]
Personal
De Perales was a fervent Catholic.[7]
Death
She died on May 3, 2011, of Alzheimer's disease.[7]
