Mission Odyssey
Mission Odyssey is a 26-part animated series, which the adventures of the ancient Greek hero Odysseus treated. The series is a production of BAF Berlin Animation Film GmbH & Co. Produktions GmbH and Marathon Filmproduktion in co-production with M6. Character design was created by David Gilson. The rights were in 2009 from the Your Family Entertainment AG acquired, which is now indefinite rights owner including ancillary rights for almost all countries. The German premiere took place on 22 February 2008 instead of on KIKA.[1]
Plot
Starting with the victory over Troy, the home of Odysseus into a true adventure. The sea god Poseidon has with Athena made a bet, which Odysseus and his team, consisting of the horned mythical creatures Titan, Zephyr, the son of Wind God who clairvoyant Nisa, the clumsy Philo, the rapacious Navigator Dates, Diomedes and a clever owl it will never be able on their own. To this also ensure mixed Poseidon in every episode of the series a little with that sometimes as far leads the Poseidon himself tried to intervene. But Athena reminds Poseidon mind that direct intervention against their betting rules violation. The series covers the most important stages of Homer's Odyssey but simplified and worked in a child-friendly manner. Occasionally framework from other Greek legends is used.
