Moacir Costa da Silva or simply Moacir (born February 14, 1986 in Recife), is a Brazilian football Defensive midfielder. He currently plays for Coritiba. Moacir can also play as a Right back.

Club career

Moacir started his football career with Recife's side, Central, and after some good appearances with the club, Recife's giants, Sport demonstrated interest in Moacir.

In 2008, Moacir was transferred to Sport, where he helped the club reach the final of the Copa do Brasil. In the Final, Sport faced Corinthians and lost the 1st leg by 3-1. In the 2nd leg, at Sport's stadium, Moacir played very well, giving one assist and Sport won the match by 2-0, winning the trophy. The victory at the Copa do Brasil allowed Sport to play in the 2009 Copa Libertadores.

In 2009, Moacir started the season with an injury, but he did manage to play in the Copa Libertadores first games. After Sport's elimination from the Libertadores, due to a penalty shoot-out decision against Palmeiras, Moacir didn't play badly during the Série A, but Sport couldn't handle the pressure and in the end of the year, the club was relegated.

In the beginning of 2010, Moacir was transferred to Corinthians, who wanted to have Moacir since the 2008 Copa do Brasil's final. He was initially used as a Right back for the 2010 Copa Libertadores, where Corinthians lost to Flamengo in the Round of 16.
