Mohamed "Ahmed" Kanu (born July 5, 1968 in Freetown) is a retired Sierra Leonean football player. He used to play as centre-back or libero. He's the current national team coach of Sierra Leone national football team,[1] named the Leone Stars. He made his international debut for Sierra Leone in 1987 at the age of 19.
He used to play for his country,[2] but it remains unknown how many times Kanu actually did defend the colours of Sierra Leone.

During his five-year stay at Cercle Brugge, Kanu was twice voted the best player of the season by the fans, winning the Pop Poll in 2000 and 2003.[3]
