Mohammad Namazi

Mohammad Namazi was the founder of Namazi Hospital, which he founded in 1955 in Shiraz, Iran. He was born in Kazerun, in 1896. He was a wealthy person, and he lived in USA for many years. He contributed greatly to the welfare of his hometown and a lot of charity. He died in 1973. A stamp series was issued to commemorate him for founding Namazi hospital.
Life
Son to Mohamad Hasan Namazi, Mohamad Namazi was born in Shiraz. He spent his childhood in China and India, and his youth in Tehran and Shiraz. In 1924, he traveled to America, and then he decided to stay there, which lasted for more than 30 years. After a very successful economic career, he then returned to Iran to help his country. His initial intention was to improve the situation of health and education by constructing a complex. But instead, he contributed to the water supply of Shiraz. Later he founded Namazi hospital. At the age of 76, he died in his own founded hospital.
