Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway

The Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway is the name given for a railway line under construction which runs for 480 kilometres (300 mi) from the port of Mombasa to Kenya's captital city Nairobi. The company assigned with its construction is China Road and Bridge Corporation. The railway is designed for 120 kilometres per hour (75 mph) running for passenger trains and 100 kilometres per hour (62 mph) by freight trains. Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway is intentioned to be a part of a greater railway network of East Africa, it runs through Voi, Muttio Andei, Emali, Athi river and Nairobi.
