Monash University Faculty of Art Design & Architecture
Monash Art Design & Architecture (MADA) undertakes teaching and research in the areas of fine arts, multimedia, art theory, industrial design and architecture. Monash is one of few institutions in Australia to offer a range of art, design and architecture courses within the one faculty. [1]
In 2008, the then Faculty of Art & Design launched a new course in architecture, the first new architecture course in Australia for 30 years,[2] resulting in the faculty being renamed MADA – Monash Art Design & Architecture.
The Faculty is located at Monash University's Caulfield Campus and incorporates:
- Department of Fine Arts
- Department of Art Theory
- Department of Design
- Department of Architecture
- Monash University Museum of Art (MUMA)
Notable alumni
- Nick Cave (musician, songwriter, author, screenwriter, painter, and occasional actor) (did not graduate)
- Dan Whitford (graphic designer and frontman of Cut Copy)
