Monika Herzig is a German-born pianist, composer and performing/recording artist. After receiving a scholarship in 1987 from the pedagogical institute in Weingarten, Germany for a one-year exchange program at the University of Alabama, she moved to the United States in August 1988. Later on, she completed her Doctorate in Music Education and Jazz Studies at Indiana University, where she is now a faculty member.[1]
As a recording artist, in addition to numerous recordings with the fusion group BeebleBrox, she has produced four albums as leader of the Monika Herzig Acoustic Project. "Peace on Earth" was released locally in the Indianapolis, Indiana area in 2008[2] and was released nationally in 2009 under the Owl Studios label.
