Monster High: Boo York, Boo York
Monster High: Boo York, Boo York is the twelfth TV special produced for Monster High. It was released on September 29, 2015.
Plot
Catty Noir drops out of show business. Now attending Monster High, Catty has a popular reputation there, and many of the students are her fans. However, Catty has her own insecurities – she is unsuccessful in composing a love song, due to the fact that she's never been in love before. As she tries to find the inspiration to write her own music by searching inside herself, she notices a glowing comet moving in the sky.
On the same night, Ramses de Nile also sees the comet and plans to take his daughters, Nefera and Cleo to meet their "dynastic destinies" in Boo York.
The next day at Monster High, Cleo shares the news she just received from her father with her boyfriend, Deuce Gordon: she, Nefera and Ramses would be going to Boo York for an exclusive gala opening at the museum of unnatural history, where comet crystal is the most important artifact. Cleo is really eager about the trip and invites Deuce to come with her. However, Deuce isn't so sure about accompanying Cleo because he has no experience of high class environment like Cleo has, but decides to go for the sake for their relationship. Later on, Frankie, Clawdeen, Draculura and Operetta hear the news from Cleo and ask if they could come along, too. Catty also wants to join the group, hoping to seek her music in Boo York. Cleo decides to invite everyone.
The ghouls arrive in Boo York and hang out, buying fangtastic new outfits and discovering new places. They meet up with Luna Motthews, who aspires to sing on Bloodway. As she talks about her passions and talents, Toralei Stripe makes her entrance. The ghouls wonders why she's here, since Nefera invited her to keep things exciting. Luna then leaves to attempt to become noticed on Bloodway. The ghouls meet another new ghoul, Elle Eedee, who is going to DJ for tomorrow night's gala. That's when Cleo remembers that she and her sister have to meet their father at Ptolemy Tower. After Cleo leaves, taking Deuce with her, much to his dismay, the rest of the ghouls decide to explore Boo York some more. Catty starts to get some ideas to write her song. Cleo, Deuce and Nefera share a taxi with another ghoul, Mouscedes King, who knows Boo York since her family helped build it.
Back at Monster High, Ghoulia Yelps discovers on her computer that the comet is off its course and is heading straight for Earth.
Back in Boo York, Cleo, Deuce and Nefera arrive at the Ptolemy Tower, where Ramses has been impatiently waiting for them. Inside, the group meet Amuncommon Ptolemy and her son, Seth, whose face is covered by an Egyptian mask. Amuncommon subtly says that she hopes the de Nile family and the Ptolemy family will become "closer" at the gala opening.
Back at Monster High, Abbey Bominable visits Ghoulia, from whom she learns of the comet about to destroy Earth on impact.
Back in Boo York, Ramses tells Nefera the comet's history. He mentions that any promise made in the presence of the comet crystal (the artifact in the museum) when the comet is above becomes "a real and unbreakable truth" that, "once made, it cannot be undone." At first, Ramses chooses Nefera to perform the promise ceremony with Seth Ptolemy, but she's not interested. Nefera then proposes Cleo as the ghoul to do the promise instead. Ramses and Nefera start to imagine how they'll earn the Ptolemy power, money and fortune if the ceremony is a success. However, Nefera realizes Cleo is dating Deuce, so she cooks up a plan in which Mouscedes is involved.
The next day, Frankie, Clawdeen, Draculura, Operetta, Catty, Toralei and Cleo are invited to a morning brunch on the roof too, hosted by Nefera, much to Cleo's curiosity. With guests of honor, the Ptolemys, Cleo seems to notice that Deuce isn't there, ask about his whereabouts. Deuce then shows up assuming it's a pool party in a bathing suit, embarrassing Cleo. Nefera then tells Deuce that their dish, scary cherry bombay is on fire. Deuce then uses the extinguisher, clumsily sprays the food and everyone at the table; due to the suit that was given to him, humiliating Cleo in the process.
After the incident, Cleo exclaims "the scary cherries were suppose to be on fire!" Then storms off. Nefera then goes over to Deuce and convinces him, that he and Cleo shouldn't be together due both being from "two different worlds"
Back over in Monster high, Abbey and Ghoulia soon realize that the comet is heading to Boo York, where the rest of the gang is at.
Over in Boo York, the gang run into Luna, who is working at a pizzeria wearing a pizza suit.
Back over at monster high, Ghoulia hacks into the satellite system, to send a signal on to the comet. A signal coming from the chest of an unknown ghoul goes through the satellite affecting technology including Elle, and she states "I'm not sure, it was like a song in my head; its still somewhere inside of me."
While traveling in the subways the gang sees another crowd, in the center, a mummy named Pharoah rapping, taking Catty's interest as she joins along singing "Boo York, Boo York "(though not the original version) before being interrupted for being recognized as a pop singer. Pharoah and Catty manages to escape from the crowd.
Back at the Ptolemy Tower, while Cleo decides on picking an outfit, Deuce comes to tell her that he isn't going with her to the gala. As both sing "It Can't Be Over" Deuce explains that they're both too different to be together, but Cleo want to keep the relationship despite of what others say. Deuce ends up breaking with Cleo with Nefera watching. The rest of the gang are notified by Catty that she and pharoah made it out safely from the crowd and plans on getting ready for the gala .
Back at monster high, Abbey and Ghoulia are still working how to stop the comet, until Heath Burns and Manny Taur comes in thinking it's a video game. While Heath fidgets with the remote, Abbey and Ghoulia soon learn the comet has a defense system realizing it's a space ship.
Over back in Boo York, Catty and Pharoah talk about topics in music realizing they have more in common, they reach to the top of the Monster of liberty, Pharoah tells Catty "close your eyes and listen" Catty had found her music. The rest of the ghouls get ready for the gala. Back over at the Ptolemy tower, Cleo is upset that Deuce broken up with her. Nefera convinces Cleo to be at the gala "you don't want to let everyone down" stating that Cleo will do what everyone wants.
The comet is starting to head closer...
Back at monster high, Ghoulia and Abbey have a theory that the comet is a spaceship and that someone is inside of it, Mr. Rotter comes in also thinking it is a video game. Abbey and Ghoulia find out that the pilot is in hyper-sleep and must find a way to wake her up.
Over in Boo York, at Monster of Liberty, Catty writes her song stating she found her music, while her and Pharaoh start having feelings for each other. However, with a heavy heart, Pharaoh admits that after today, he won't be singing anymore. Catty advises him to not give up his music and be true to himself before she leaves for the gala.
At the gala opening, Amucommon Ptolemy makes sure that her son Seth Ptolemy looks sharp as ever while important guest including the ghouls, and the De Niles in a red carpet style. Ramses hopes that there will be a promise ceremony, with Nefera replying " I got Cleo exactly where I want her..." Amucommon Ptolemy begins the presentation of the history of the crystal comet and unveils the legendary crystal comet shard. Nefera goes over to Cleo and attempts to convince her to do the promise ceremony since it's what everyone wants. As the party continues, the gang runs into Luna again, working as a waitress, as the royal families leave the ballroom, Elle turns the music for everyone to do the robot dance.
Back at monster high, Abbey and Ghoulia are trying to find a way to wake up the pilot before impact, Ghoulia sends a signal over to the ship, the ship transmitted another signal back through the satellite, L.E.D malfunctioning for the moment.
Cleo decides, for the people that looks up to her, that she'll do the promise of the ceremony, just as Nefera planned. Amucommon Ptolemy announces that the Ptolemy De Nile future dynasty will be Seth and Cleo, leaving the gang shocked. Catty shows up and Seth objects the ceremony taking off his mask, revealing to be Pharoah. He and Catty sings "Boo York, Boo York " as a duet. They run off together. Nefera, disgusted, takes the comet crystal and follows them outside then takes their voices(they could still speak but can't sing). Now with no affection or music for each other,Amucommon Ptolemy orders Seth/Pharoah to continue the ceremony. The gang were shocked and happy that Catty and Seth/Pharoah had feelings until they noticed Catty wasn't herself or couldn't recall ever having an experience with Seth/Pharoah. Amucommon Ptolemy announces that the promise ceremony will continue. Mouscedes then overhears and sees Nefera giving Toralei the comet crystal.
Back at monster high, Ghoulia and Abbey soon realize that if they don't wake her up in time it will crash on earth, as Manny exaggerates a guitar, Ghoulia then figure out that it maybe a distress signal.
Over in Boo York, Toreli takes the opportunity to use the crystal to use Catty voice and get noticed in Bloodway. Duece, upset and lost but ends up taking advice from the hotdog man and has the determination to get cleo back. As the gang tries to figure out why Catty isn't herself, Mouscedes informs them that Nefera gave Toralei the comet crystal and Luna knows where she would be. The gang head over to Bloodway to hear Toralei singing with Catty's voice. The gang confront Toralei and successfully retrieve the crystal from her with which they restore Catty's voice.
The gang try to return to the museum in a taxi. Deuce joins them, wanting to get Cleo back. When Toralei phones Nefera and informs that the gang are heading to the museum to stop the ceremony, she uses an artifact to cause a blackout in the city, making it harder for the gang to reach the museum. Catty suggests they travel on the rooftops of Boo York City. Elle is interrupted by the signal again.
Back at monster high, Ghoulia receives a call from the gang, saying that their friend is "frizzing" out. Ghoulia then figures out that the sound coming from the ship is actually a song. She then uses a piano keyboard to recite the music back to the source.
Over in Boo York, the gang stops the ceremony just in time, Cleo is happy and reunited with Deuce and Catty returns Seth/Pharoah voice having his music again. Amucoommon Ptolemy seemed upset at first that her son gave up everything he could've had, but accepts him for who he is. Cleo accepts Deuce for who he is happy to be with him again. Nefera, who is angry that she could've had everything, notices that the comet is headed straight for them.
Over at monster high, Ghoulia uses the satellites to transmit the signal from the piano keyboard loud enough for the pilot to hear, the unknown ghoul almost wakes...
As the comet is close to impact, everyone in Boo York is running in panic.
Ghoulia plays the signal again and cranks it loud enough, the pilot wakes up and stops the spaceship completely before impact.
Catty returns the crystal to the unknown ghoul named Astranova. She sings "Shooting Stars" with Pharoah and Catty as the party went on in Boo York.
In a post-credit scene, Astranova, now at Monster High competes with Operetta with their guitars, much to Mr. Rotter's annoyance. After class, Astranova put her books in her locker and starts chatting with Ever After High students Apple White and Raven Queen on her iCoffin.
