Morö backe

Coordinates: 64°45′08″N 21°01′41″E / 64.75230°N 21.02819°E / 64.75230; 21.02819 Morö backe is a district of the town Skellefteå in northern Sweden and has some 3,000 inhabitants.

It is home to Morö backe school, with some 360 students aged 6 to 13 and a kindergarten for 75 children.

Morö Backe is a district of Skellefteå. Morö Backe is located in the northeastern part of Skellefteå, higher than other districts in Skellefteå, which is mostly located in Skellefteå river. Morö Backe is on the eastern slope of Vitberget, situated cliff top and the center for outdoor activities with cross-country and downhill skiing. Morö Backe is Skellefteå's largest residential area with a large part of their settlements resulting from the 70 - and 80's. In the 90's was built in the area to include additional homes in the eastern part and in the years 1989-1991 was built in Skellefteå's largest concentration of rental apartments and condominiums in apartment buildings in Morö Backe center. The Morö Backe are several preschools and one primary school, Moro Backe School. The area has its own medical center that is coordinated with the health center in Kåge.

The Morö Backe are several football fields where Morön BK operates as well as a riding school where Skelleftea riding club operates. Indoor riding arena will undergo a major refurbishment and extension.

The Morö Backe square is now a Thai restaurant and Mommes kiosk. The former Co-op supermarket was closed in 2006 and other businesses that were housed in housing consumption, as a hairdresser and bank, has today moved from the area. Skellefteå municipality plans to build a new nursing home on the lot, and at ground level, then, according to the detailed development opportunity for the establishment of new trade.
