Mouthwash (song)
"Mouthwash" is a song by Kate Nash and is her third single, and the second to be lifted from her debut album Made of Bricks. It was released on 1 October 2007.
The track was described by Kate as a protest song, but curiously the mixed up, dizzy crescendo has a distinct background recording of a lady in the throes of passion - an interesting juxtaposition.
Critical and commercial reception
The song failed to reach the heights of previous single "Foundations" both commercially and critically. It managed to peak just outside the top twenty of the UK Singles Chart upon its physical release.[1][2][3] Slant Magazine felt the song failed to live up to "Foundations",[4] while The Guardian felt overall the song was "unnecessary".[5]
