History and Development
The 1953 constructed MOWAG T 1 4x4 was modular built: with an open loading ramp, with radio shack as a closed van, etc. In order to keep the manufacturing, maintenance and repair as simple and inexpensive, many parts of the U.S. DODGE car maker are used, especially from the Dodge WC. The Mowag T1 exist with or without winch. Most MOWAG T1 4x4 were built as right-hand drive vehicles, there were over 1600 cars delivered in 7 different versions to the Swiss Army. MOWAG 4x4 T 1 were also supplied as emergency vehicles to fire departments and the police. The Army used the MOWAG T 1 4x4 until 1995, many vehicles are now in private hands. Three vehicles of the military and police are now in the Swiss Military Museum Full.[1] [2]
