Mohammed Ali Shehki The King of Pop Shehki entered the music scene by his (originally composed and written songs, with a touch of Persian music) Pakistani pop and playback singer. Though Shehki is Persian by origin but he lived most of his life in Pakistan. He studied engineering in NED University Karachi, Pakistan. Later, he made a career in aviation.[1] Due to his originality Shehki is the first ever pop singer receiving national awards for consecutive years by ptv, film and other national and international recognitions

Early years and playback singing

Shehki’s immense love of music and passion took him to the forefront of the Pakistani show business. Sohail Rana conducted an audition for Karachi television station in 1973. Numerous boys and girls including Shyhaki participated in that audition. In fact, Shehki was Sohail Rana’s first choice because he came out number one in the test.

Career

Shehki’s debut song was ‘Sambhal, sambhal kar chalna hai.’ Music composer, Rana, the song was live telecast as an introduction by Karachi television station’s program, ‘Naghma zaar.’ Then a First full song "Mere Piyar ke to sung sung" by Niaz Ahmed, producer Ghazanfar Ali. Blessed with an immensely magnificent and a strong voice, trained in basics of music by his ustad Habib Ahmed Khan, and then Sohail Rana, Shyhaki soon achieved renown of the top. He lent his voice to Sehba Akhtar’s national song, ‘Mein bhee Pakistan hoon, tu bhee Pakistan hai.’ a biggest hit of the time & Aye Watan Tere Betay by Music composer, Sohail Rana. The language of his music learned early can provide a lifelong source of kinship, celebration and comfort. After doing a whole five years as a main feature in Program "Jharney" produced by Shoeb Mansoor, he came out to be in fact the most talked, written about & printed artist, with many hits like "Meri Ankhonse Isdunya ko Dekho, Tumse Bicharker, Nazaray and several other hit songs He teamed up with Sultana Siddiqui doing a regular quarterly show Dhanak as a singer and presenter, then with Saira Kazemi in Rang Tarang again for a long span of time, he came out with his hit songs like Mere Bachpan Ke Din, Ye Pehli Pehli Barish, and then he appeared with Alan Faqeer to record this superfluous song, ‘Teray ishq mein jo doob gaya, "Ham Raat Bohot Roi" of Ibne Insha again earned him the award nationally as the best singer.’ Due to his origin and fluency in persian language he did all persian poetry programs on PTV of Allama Iqbal with its true essence. His numerous film songs are still a hit especially songs composed by Indian composer Babul Bose for film "Raaz" In film Shore with Barbra Sharif written and directed by Ghazanfar Ali, Shyhaki besides playing the lead he also did the music score and songs. Similarly, songs like these has sparked hope in innumerable music buffs, In his film career that he acted as a hero, achieved platinum jubilee at the box office but the industry was already on the decline so he left films. His films are Dekh Tamasha (Piyar do ya mardo), Choronka Badshah, Son of Andata,Zor Awar, Sonia, Guide, Wachan, Shore.
