Nadia Ghulam
Nadia Ghulam Dastgir was burn in Kabul (Afghanistan) en 1985. Su vida, como la de tantas otras mujeres afganas, está marcada por las consecuencias de una cruenta guerra civil, del hambre y del régimen talibán. Pero tales adversidades no pudieron frenarla y Nadia consiguió salir adelante gracias a su ingenio y coraje, haciéndose pasar por un chico durante diez años para así poder alimentar a su familia. Fue su carácter sociable lo que la llevó a colaborar con una ONG a través de la cual llegó a Cataluña, su nuevo hogar. Ahora, finalmente, puede hacer todo lo que siempre deseó: vivir en plena libertad y seguir estudiando y formándose para ayudar asía su país y a su propia familia.
Nadia Ghulam Dastgir was born in Kabul (Afghanistan) in 1985. Her life, like many other Afghan women, has been marked by the consequences of a cruel civil war, hunger and the Taliban regime. But these adversities couldn’t stop her and Nadia managed to move forward thanks to her ingenuity and courage, passing herself as a boy for ten years in order to feed her family.
It was her sociable character that brought her to collaborate with an N.G.O., through which she arrived in Catalonia, her new home. Now, finally, she can do everything that she always wanted to do: live in full freedom and continue studying and training to help her country and her own family.
Ya plenamente asentada en nuestro país, Nadia quiso explicar su historia, y lo hizo con la colaboración de la periodista AgnèsRotger en la novela El secreto de mi turbante (Edicions 62,2010). La obra se hizo con el prestigioso premio PrudenciBertranadel año 2010, y cosechó una gran valoración de la crítica nacional.
When fully settled in our country, Nadia wanted to explain her story, and she did so with the collaboration of the journalist Agnès Rotger in the novel “The secret of my turban” (Edicions 62, 2010). The book won the prestigious prize Prudenci Bertrana, 2010 and achieved national critical acclaim.
Con la representación de la pieza de teatro documental que lleva su propio nombre, Nadia, y bajo la atenta dirección de Carles Fernández Giua, se ha mostrado al gran público detalles más íntimos y personales de su difícil vida en la Kabul de los peores años de la guerra.Esta obra teatral ha cosechado también un gran éxito, y se sigue representando tanto en nuestro país como en el extranjero.
Through the piece of documentary theatre, with her own name, Nadia, as the title and under the direction of Carles Fernández Giua, a wide public audience has seen very intimate and personal details of her difficult life in Kabul during the worst years of the war. This piece of theatre has achieved great success and continues to be performed in both our country and abroad.
Cabe mencionar, también, que Nadia publicó junto a Joan Soler i Amigó el libroCuentos que me curaron(Columna, 2014), un bellísimo recopilatorio de las historias que su madre le contaba en el hospital durante su convalecencia a consecuencia de las heridas producidas por la bomba que le cambió la vida.
It should be also mentioned, that Nadia published, together with Joan Soler i Amigó, the book, Tales That Healed Me (Columna, 2014), a beautiful compilation of stories that her mother told her in the hospital during her period of convalescence following the injuries she received from the bomb that changed her life.
Finalmente, este año 2016, Nadia publica junto a Javier Diéguez su segunda novela, La primera estrella de la noche (Plaza&Janés, 2016). Es ésta una novela basada en hechos reales que cuenta las vivencias diarias de mujeres luchadoras, afganas, en un país que sufre un conflicto armado tras otro desde hace ya más de cuarenta años.
Finally, this year, 2016, Nadia published, in conjunction with Javier Dieguez her second novel, The First Star of the Night (Plaza & Janés, 2016). It is a novel based on real life, recounting the daily lives of Afghan women who are fighters, in a country that has suffered armed conflicts, one after another for more than 40 years.
