NASW Press Journals

The National Association of Social Workers publishes five journals through its publications division, NASW PressSocial Work, Children & Schools, Health & Social Work, Social Work Research, and Social Work Abstracts.

Peer Review

NASW journals are peer reviewed by their respective editorial boards. Editorial board members are appointed by the president of NASW. Appointees must be NASW members in good standing and must have a strong publishing background. Editorial boards seek original manuscripts that will stimulate professional dialogue. Manuscripts will not be rejected for publication because they are controversial or present unpopular stances or positions other than the prevailing view.

Environmental Responsibility

All NASW journals are published in both print and digital format. In 2008, NASW began printing its journals on Forest Stewardship Council certified paper to promote environmental responsibility.
