Latest Developments

As a part of the National Highways Development Project, the entire National Highway is to be converted into a four-lane expressway, keeping in view the rapid increase in the number of vehicles passing through the route day-by-day and to ensure faster and smoother movement of vehicles all along the route. The entire strech from Patna to Bakhtiarpur has already been upgraded to four-lane with the widening of the earlier two-lane Patna Bypass Road from Anisabad to Deedarganj in Patna and the construction of a new semi-elevated four-lane road exactly parallel to the existing two-lane road from Deedarganj in Patna to the junction with NH 31 near Bakhtiarpur. The four-laning work on the Patna-Arrah-Mohania stretch of the National Highway is currently under progress and is likely to be completed by 2017.
