NOM (Korean: 엔오엠; abbreviation of No Other Man) was a South Korean boy band under JM Star Entertainment. They released their first single "누난예뻐", also known as "Pretty Sister", on September 9, 2013 and had their on-stage debut on October 23, 2013 at MBC’s Music Show Champion with five members: A-IN, Yongki, K, Yohan and Hu. On September 4, 2014, it was announced on their official fan cafe that member Hu was officially withdrawing from the group. [1] Their official fandom name is NEYB. The following year Yongki withdrew from the group to focus on solo activities. Jm star announced the addition of two other members at the same time. They were later revealed as Yun and Tyty, the later of which coming from Thailand.

History

Pre-debut

Prior to his debut in NOM, Yongki was a part of South Korean boy band MR.SLAM under the name Yongjin.[2] Leader, A-IN, was a dance teacher alongside MNET's Dancing 9 contestant, Kim Solhee, while Hu was a foreign student in China, where he learned how to speak English. Yohan was in a dance group called "Tonic" where they danced to B.A.P's Warrior, SHINee's Sherlock, TEEN TOP's Miss Right, and more.

2013: "Pretty Sister", Philippine Activities

NOM released their first single and music video for "Pretty Sister" on September 9, 2013 featuring their label mate Hwang Min-woo.[3] On the same day, they released their dance practice video of the song which was choreographed by choreographer ReflexJun, who also choreographed Topp Dogg's 'Say It' and C-Clown's 'Far Away'. Leader, A-IN, later revealed that they filmed their music video in China. Their song, "Pretty Sister", has received negative comments from fans due to its similarity with SHINee's "Replay".

A few weeks after, they revealed on their official fan cafe that they will be having their first visit in the Philippines, prior to their on stage debut. [4] They held mall shows in Manila and in provinces such as Iloilo and Baguio. They concluded their activities with a fan meeting at Trinity Restaurant Seaside Macapagal and flew back to Korea on the same day.

After returning to Korea, they had their first stage on October 23, 2013 at MBC Music’s Show Champion performing their song "Pretty Sister".

First Half of 2014: NOM TV, Philippines Charity Concert, Comeback: "You It's You", CF

On January 27, 2014, they revealed through their official fan cafe that they will be releasing a 'diary like' video of NOM's activities called "NOM TV". [5] On February 8, 2014, they released the first episode of NOM TV through their official YouTube account.[6]

It was revealed that NOM will be returning to the Philippines and will be holding a charity concert to help the typhoon Yolanda victims in the Philippines. Together, with violinist Eunjoo Park, they held three concerts in the Philippines and a few mall shows where they first performed their coming up song "You It's You". They held a charity fan meeting at Yahweh's Hot Springs along with Eunjoo Park for Valentine's Day.

They held their first Korean fan meeting on March 26, 2014, where their label mates Peach Girls made a special guest. On April 2, 2014, they released a teaser video for their new single "You it You". They released their second single album "You It You", which they later changed to "You it's You", on April 4, 2014.[7] They had their first comeback stage on May 21, 2014 at MBC’s Music Show Champion. On May 2014, the members of NOM starred in a CF for korean cafe Naboreo Kkokkoboreo.

Second Half of 2014: Hu's Departure, Return to Philippines

In the middle of 2014, NOM's company revealed that Hu will not be joining NOM's activities as well as their Philippine activities.[8]On September 4, 2014, they revealed on their official fan cafe that Hu will be officially leaving the group, citing no reasons to his leave. On September 6, 2014, Hu posted a message on his Facebook account stating that he left the group because of his different music taste and desire to focus on his studies.

On September 10, 2014, they revealed on their official fan cafe that they will be going to the Philippines, once again. It will serve as their first performance without Hu. On September 11, 2014, they revealed their official schedule in Philippines which showed that they were once again visiting provinces in the Philippines such as Iloilo, Cebu, Laguna, Davao, and Bacolod. [9] They performed their songs "Pretty Sister" and "You it's You", as well as sang to Justin Bieber's "Baby". They concluded their Philippine Promotions on October 6, 2014, and flew back to Korea the day after


NOM's disbandment, A-IN, Yohan and K joining 7stone

On February 1, 2016, JM Star Entertainment announced via Facebook that NOM Has disbanded. Meanwhile, JM Star Entertainment seem to be preparing to debut a new male group called “7stone” with their own Facebook page opened on the same day of NOM’s disbandment. Former members A-IN, Yohan, and K are spotted in the 7stone group photo along with other trainees, rebranding themselves as a brand new idol group.
