Nabeul Museum

Entrée du musée de Nabeul

Nabeul Museum (Arabic: متحف نابل), inaugurated in 1984[1] is a Tunisian archaeological museum located in the town of Nabeul, whose purpose is to collect some of the objects found during the excavations that took place at various sites of Cape Bon.[2]

Collections are, for the most part, the ancient Neapolis but site of parts belonging to other archaeological sites of Cape Bon are also in the Museum. Before the Roman period pieces include, in addition to ceramics and the amulets from Egyptian style of Kerkuane, terracotta statues from the Punic sanctuary of Thinissut. Roman collections are illustrated by numerous mosaics found at Neapolis. In recent years, the content of the Museum is enriched by the acquisition of three mosaics of Kelibia as well as the opening of a hall dedicated to the search of a factory of salting of fish.[3]
