Nadia Shirin Moffett (born 1985) is an American beauty queen who is best known for winning the title of Miss North Carolina USA 2010 and competing in the nationally televised Miss USA 2010 beauty pageant. [1]
Biography
Former Miss North Carolina USA 2010, Nadia Shirin Moffett, is an active leader in North Carolina. Nadia, who represented the state in the nationally televised Miss USA Pageant in 2010, traveled statewide to countless public schools inspiring thousands of students to “Know Their Finish Line.”
Prior to passing the crown, Nadia founded The Queen’s Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit that is now statewide serving underserved middle and high school girls to prepare them for higher education and leadership. As Executive Director of The Queen’s Foundation, Nadia has led the organization to raise over a quarter of a million dollars in donations for program sponsorships to keep the program fee-free for the young women the organization serves. [2] The Queen’s Foundation now reaches over 170 girls in North Carolina in six counties with continued expansion, has awarded over three dozen scholarships, placed girls in over 50 high school internships and has exemplary success rates in ensuring young women are admitted to college. Under her leadership, she facilitated the creation of over 60 corporate and community partnerships to provide funding and leadership support to the regions the organization serves. A graduate from The University of North Carolina Greensboro, where she earned her bachelors in Business Marketing, a member of Toastmasters International, Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority and a former Leadership Path Manager for American Express Company, Nadia has earned several awards and recognitions for leadership and service and was recently named one of Triad Business Journal’s 40 Leaders Under Forty for 2013.
Currently residing in Greensboro, NC, Nadia recently completed her Masters Degree in Nonprofit Leadership at High Point University. [3] Nadia’s mission is to continue to highlight the challenges girls are facing and grow The Queen’s Foundation by getting women involved.
Miss North Carolina USA 2010
Moffett competed in the Miss North Carolina USA 2010 pageant in November 2009 and eventually taking the crown. She was crowned by Kristen Dalton Miss USA 2009 from North Carolina.
Miss USA
Moffett represented the state of North Carolina in the national televised Miss USA 2010 pageant but she was unplaced. Rima Fakih of Michigan won the pageant and was crowned by outgoing titleholder Kristen Dalton Miss USA 2009.
