Nadia Murad

Nadia Murad Basee Taha (Kurdish: نادیە موراد / Nadiye Mûrad, Arabic: نادية مراد) is a Yazidi rights activist who was kidnapped and held by the Islamic State in August 2014. On 5 January 2016, the Iraqi government nominated her for the 2016 Nobel Peace Prize for her activism.[1] A Norwegian lawmaker seconded the nomination.[2]
