Nagendra Karri (born 28 November 1982) is a Hollywood film director,[1] Screenwriter and Producer. Karri rose to prominence with the movie "Where are you Sophia?".[2] His upcoming features scheduled for a 2013 release include the Romantic Drama "GATE 21" and the Soviet era Red Mafiya Thriller "Mobster- A Call for the New Order".[3]

Early life

Nagendra Karri was born in India to Sujatha Karri,and Srinivas Rao Karri, Lt Colonel Infantry Indian Army. His schooling was at the Tiny Tots Public School, Vizag, India. He graduated with Bachelors in Computer Science & Engineering from JNTU, Andhra Pradesh. At 20, Karri landed in United States of America to pursue higher studies. He graduated with Masters in Computer Science & Electronics Engineering from Oregon State University,[4] Oregon. His other educational pursuits include a minor in Film Making & Direction from University of Southern California,[5] CA.

Career

Nagendra Karri started his career[6] working with a private brokerage firm LPL Financial, San Diego. He moved to New York City in 2006, and worked on a high-end security system for Department of Health, New York City. He Followed it up with a short period in JP Morgan, Chase in New York City where he met most of his best buddies who supported him to venture into the creative world of his dreams, Hollywood.

He started Eternal Mind Productions in 2007 with the backing of some venture capitalists. His first few original film scripts include Mobster - A Call for the New Order, "Where are you Sophia?", "GATE 21", "Chronicles of Kurukshetra", "Human Aliens", and "The Reds".

In 2009, Nagendra Karri directed and produced Where are you Sophia?, a psychological suspense thriller which had a limited release worldwide in early Feb 2010. Also premiered in the Cannes film festival, IFFI and Tribeca.

Karri is currently working to come up with his next upcoming releases in 2013, "Mobster- A Call for the New Order" and "GATE 21".
