Namulonge Airport, also referred to as Namulonge Airstrip, is an airport in Uganda. It is one of the 46 airports in the country.[1]
Location
Namulonge Airport is located in the town of Namulonge, in Wakiso District, in central Uganda. The airport is approximately 57 kilometres (35 mi), by air, northeast of Entebbe International Airport, Uganda's largest civilian and military airport.[2] This is approximately 10 kilometres (6.2 mi), by road, north of the town of Gayaza.[3] The geographic coordinates of this airport are 00°30′51″N 32°37′48″E / 0.51417°N 32.63000°E. Namulonge Airport is 1,180 metres (3,870 ft) above sea level.
Facilities
Namulonge Airport serves the Agronometry Station located at Namulonge. As of January 2010, the airport was not under the administration of the Civil Aviation Authority of Uganda.[4] The airport has a single unpaved runway, whose exact dimensions were unknown as of January 2010.
