Narendra Prasad is an Indian social activist, thoracic surgeon[1][2] and a former head of the department of surgery, Patna Medical College and Hospital.[3] He is the founder trustee,a former vice president and the incumbent president of Arogya Bharati,[4] a non governmental organization known for its Project, Healthy Village, a health project encompassing 250 villages in Bihar.[5]

Prasad graduated in medicine from Patna Medical College and secured the higher degree of FRCS from the UK in 1962.[3] He is a former president of the Association of Surgeons of India (Bihar chapter).[3][6] The Government of India honoured him in 2015, with the award of Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian award for his contributions to the field of medicine.[7][8]
