Nathaniel Richard Hemsley (born May 5, 1974) is a former American football linebacker. He played college football for Syracuse. He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Dallas Cowboys.
College career
As a freshman in 1993, Hemsley lead Syracuse in total tackles with 81.[1] As a senior, in 1996, he again led the team in total tackles with 106.[1] Also as a senior he was named First-team All-Big East.[2]
Professional career
Hemsley was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 1997. As a rookie, he appeared in two games for the Cowboys. On August 31, 1998 he was re-signed by the Cowboys.[3] After appearing in three games, Hemsley was played on injured reserve with an ankle injury.[3] He was cut by the Cowboys on October 27, 1999.[3]
Over a year later, on November 14, 2000 he was signed by the Miami Dolphins to their practice squad.[3] On February 19, 2001 he was re-signed to a two-year contract.[3] He was then released on August 30, 2001.[3] On October 3, 2001 he was signed by the Carolina Panthers.[3] The Panthers released him on March 20, 2002.[3]
