National Electric Vehicle Sweden AB, abbreviated as Nevs, is a Swedish holding company, that has acquired the assets of Saab Automobile AB from a bankruptcy estate in 2012. National Electric Vehicle Sweden AB’s (Nevs) vision is to shape mobility for a more sustainable future. Company focuses on the development of electric vehicles and sustainable mobility services.
History
The original Saab (Ursaab) was built in 1947. This marked the beginning of a proud history of innovations that set the standards for the global automotive industry. On August 31, 2012, National Electric Vehicle Sweden AB acquired the main assets of the Saab Automobile bankruptcy estates. Nevs is now taking the next steps on its journey towards the vision to shape mobility for a more sustainable future. In December 2015 company has signed a strategic collaboration agreement with the Chinese company Panda New Energy Co which is a new energy vehicle leasing company with focus on low emission mobility solutions. Cooperating with many chauffeured car service platforms in China, Panda aims to become one of the biggest EV leasing companies in the world. According to the agreement, Nevs will provide Panda with 150,000 9-3 sedan electric vehicles until the end of 2020. [1]
Owners and Managements
NME Holdings Ltd. is the main owner of Nevs. The company was founded in 2004 by main owner Kai Johan Jiang. NME Holdings is the owner of State Holdings, a Beijing based enterprise which has pioneered development of renewable, clean energy in China.
Tianjin has a population of 15 million and borders Hebei Province and Beijing Municipality. A coordinated development planning among Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province were approved by the central government of P.R.C. this year to promote the regional integration with priority on traffic management, environmental protection, energy security and industrial upgrades. THT, where Nevs’ new energy vehicle factory and R&D joint venture will be located, is one of the first Chinese national Hi-tech industrial parks, and have attracted numbers of multinationals to invest and manufacture. Now there are more than 10,000 companies registered in THT, including 6,000 hi-tech companies, and the area has become an important base for science and technology innovation.
State Research Information Technology Co., Ltd. (SRIT)
SRIT is a leading IT provider owned by the State Council Development Research Center and the telecom giant China Unicom. The company has around 750 employees in China, and taken on projects for leading companies and academic institutions.
