National Institute of Design, Kurukshetra

National Institute of Design, Kurukshetra is an upcoming design institute located in Kurukshetra district, Haryana, India.[1]

The fund for the institute was allocated in February 2014,[2] with the classes due to start in 2015.[3] The institute is the country's second institute of design. The institute is spread with an area of more than 200 acres.[4]

History

The foundation stone for the institute was laid by Mr Anand Sharma, the then Union Minister of Commerce and Industry.[4] Japan provided technical assistance in setting up this institute.[5] The government approved for the creation of the post of director In September 2015.[6]
