National Storage is an Australian self storage company. They are currently one of the premier sponsors of the Brisbane Broncos, and one of the gold sponsors of Richmond Football Club. From 2013 to 2015, they were one of the two major sponsors of the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League, and are one of the largest self-storage companies in Australia. They are run in Brisbane. They own the most self-storage stores across Australia.[1]
History
National Storage was founded in December 2000, in a merger between Stowaway Self Storage, National Mini Storage and Premier Self Storage. On 1 February 2013, National Storage were announced as the co-major sponsor of the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League, with Vero Insurance. Both companies signed a three-year deal to sponsor the Lions, lasting until the end of the 2015 season.[2] In December 2013, National Storage listed on the Australian Securities Exchange, forming National Storage REIT (NSR). On 26 June 2015, National Storage spent $23 million on building a portfolio in Christchurch, its first stores in New Zealand. The portfolio consisted of five stores, located in Redwood, Belfast, Opawa, Ferrymead and Hornby.[3] National Storage currently has over 80 stores open across Australia, located in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Townsville, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Geelong, Adelaide, Perth and Hobart, therefore being located in seven of Australia's eight main states and territories.[4] At the end of their sponsorship contract with the Lions, they signed as one of the premier sponsors (the second tier of sponsorship) of the Brisbane Broncos ahead of the 2016 NRL season.
