National data protection authority
National data protection authorities are authorities tasked with the protection of data and privacy.
In the European Union and the EFTA member countries. Their status was formalized by the Data Protection Directive[1] and they were involved in the Madrid Resolution.

- Germany: the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information
- Ireland: the Data Protection Commissioner
- Sweden: the Swedish Data Inspection Board (Datainspektionen)
- United Kingdom: the Information Commissioner's Office
EFTA countries
- Norway: the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet)
Third countries
- Australia: the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner
- Isle of Man: the Office of the Data Protection Supervisor
- Russia: the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Telecom, Information Technologies and Mass Communications (Roskomnadzor)
