Naval Police ranks of the Indian Navy
In the system of the Naval Police Ranks Indian Navy, the very first rank awarded to a Naval Police Sailor is LPM (Leading Patrol Man) equivalent to a Head Constable in the civil police, Naik in the Indian Army and Corporal in the Indian Air Force. The rank structure of Naval Police is as follows :-
- LPM (Leading Patrol Man) - Equivalent to Head Constable, Naik and Corporal.
- RPO (Regulating Petty Officer) - Equivalent to Assistant Sub Inspector, Havildar and Sergeant.
- MAA (Master-At-Arms) - Equivalent to Sub Inspector, Naib Subedar and Junior Warrant Officer.
- Mc-At-Arms II (Master Chief At Arms Second Class) - Equivalent to Inspector, Subedar and Warrant Officer.
- Mc-At-Arms I (Master Chief At Arms First Class) - Senior to Inspector and equivalent to Subedar Major and Master Warrant Officer.
- Mc-At-Arms II/I Hon Sub-Lieutenant - Equivalent to ACP, Hon Lieutenant and Hon Flying Officer.
- Mc-At-Arms I Hon Lieutenant - Equivalent to a Private Secretary, Hon Captain and Hon Flight Lieutenant.
