Neal Falls (September 24, 1969 – July 18, 2015)[3] was an American suspected serial killer shot and killed by an escort in West Virginia. Falls had been stopped by police in over 20 states during his life, but did not incur any serious crimes during his life.[2]

Per the escort: "When he strangled me, I grabbed my rake, and when he laid the gun down to get the rake out of my hands, I shot him...I grabbed the gun and shot behind me."

Subsequently when police searched the inside of Falls' car, they found a machete, axes, knives, a shovel, a sledgehammer, bleach, plastic trash bags, bulletproof vests, and four sets of handcuffs.

Police are now investigating whether he could be connected to the murder or disappearance of ten women[4] across eight states including Ohio, Illinois, and Nevada.[5]

Evidence found with dismembered bodies outside of Las Vegas, where Falls used to live while working on the Hoover Dam,[1] is similar to an item found in his car. And all the women were escorts, most of whom advertised online.

"It's likely that Mr. Falls is a serial killer," said Steve Cooper, Charleston Police Department Chief of Detectives.[6]

Police suspect a post-it note containing the names of six females along with ages and phone numbers, that was found in Falls' pocket may have been a list of potential victims.[7]
