Netmagic Solutions is a provider of managed hosting and cloud services in India. It is a subsidiary of the Japanese telecommunication company, NTT Communications.
History
Sharad Sanghi,[1][2] and a small team of individuals, Netmagic came into existence in 1998. The intent of the venture was to offer a complete spectrum of data center and managed IT hosting services to the enterprise sector. Netmagic’s first data center became operational in 2000.[3][4]
In 2008, Nexus Venture Partners and Fidelity mutually invested INR 80 Crores. Nokia Growth Partners and Cisco Systems further invested INR 70 Crores in 2010 to push for global growths and focus on mentoring start-ups.[5]
In 2012, NTT bought 74 per cent of the company’s shares[6] making it one of the top global IT data centers. The remaining shares are owned by the CEO of Netmagic, Mr. Sharad Sanghi.[7] In India, NTT Communications, a member of the NTT group, handles the operations of Netmagic. It has over 140 data centers across the world.[8]
Data Center Locations
Netmagic has 9 carrier-neutral Tier III data centers in India.[9] Mumbai has four data centers(Vikhroli 2 phases, BSE and Saki), Bangalore has two while Delhi, Pune and Chennai have one each. These data centers are ISO 27001 and ISO 9001:2008 certified; built as per IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.[10]
Currently, Netmagic is reportedly developing one of the largest data centers in Mumbai.[11][12] The latest Mumbai arm is dubbed as Mumbai DC5 that has a floor space of 300,000 square feet. Once developed, the facility will have space to support 2,700 racks and access to 20 megawatts of power capacity.[13]
Services
Netmagic provides data center, cloud infrastructure, security services and disaster recovery (DR) to customers across banking, hospitality, insurance, power management, education, logistics, health care and media and entertainment segments.[14]
The Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS)[15] is a Disaster Recovery Management (DRM) Solution powered by Sanovi’s Cloud DRM suite. It has quick deployment with pay-per-use feature. The entire DRaaS can be enabled with hybrid DR deployments.[16]
Its cloud computing services allows enterprises to use the entire IT infrastructure on a pay-per-use model.[17]
