The New Orleans City Council is the legislative branch of the City of New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. There is one city council member for each of the five council districts, as well as two at-large council members. The council members are elected to four-year terms using the two-round system variant of the single-winner voting system. The President and Vice President of the Council are chosen by the council after each election.
