Events and Organizations
New Ulm High School's annual events include Homecoming Week, which always includes the "Battle of the Classes." Tradition has it that the Seniors always win this event, but in 2012 the Juniors won for the first time ever. Student Council works to put on many of these events. Some more events include school-wide Turkey Bingo in November, three school dances throughout the year, Spring Fling in March, and an end of the year event, such as an Outdoor Dance or an Outdoor Movie. The school also holds a prom in the spring.
Some of the student organizations include: Speech, Math Counts, Knowledge Bowl, Junior High Knowledge Bowl, Robotics, One Act, SPOTS, Student Council, FFA, FCCLA, Payne Street Singers, Jazz Band, Choir, Band, Pops Choir, Mock Trial, and Yearbook.
The FFA sponsors an American Redcross Blood Drive twice a year.
Knowledge Bowl has went to state meet in 2007, 2012, 2015, and 2016.

NUHS Today
Due to budget cuts for school funding from the state in 2007, the New Ulm Middle School had to shut down and now shares space with the New Ulm High School.[1] A new high school is being built after a referendum was passed in 2014. The new school is set to open in the fall of 2016 and the district is excited to see that the community showed their support for education by passing the referendum for the new high school. The old high school building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.
