Newcastle University Theatre Society

The Newcastle University Theatre Society or NUTS, is the student-run theatre society at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in the United Kingdom. It is one of the largest student theatre societies in the country.[1]

Every year the society puts on 12 shows, a drama festival showcasing new student writings and takes a show to the Edinburgh Fringe each year. In the summer of 2014 the society appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with a play written by Max Elton, Big Brother Blitzkrieg, which had a sell out run.

The Society is run by an executive committee made up of 8 positions: President, Secretary, Treasurer, Marketing Director, Venue Manager, Technical Manager, Social Secretary and Musical Director.
