NextLabs, Inc. is multi-national software company that provides Active Policy Management to help large enterprises in financial services, aerospace and defense, and manufacturing industries mitigate information risk. The purpose of information risk management is to provide safer global collaboration and information sharing and prevent wrongful disclosure of sensitive and non-public information.

NextLabs provides policy-driven information risk management software that automates security controls and compliance procedures across enterprise business processes. It holds 27 patents in attribute-based policies, policy optimization, and cross-application policy enforcement and analytics.

NextLabs is privately held and headquartered in San Mateo, California, with additional offices in Boston, Singapore, Hangzhou, and Malaysia.[1]

NextLabs is a member of the Transglobal Secure Collaboration Project, a technical member of the XACML committee in OASIS (organization), and the author of the C++ AzAPI for OpenAZ in Open Liberty.

History

NextLabs was founded in 2004 by Keng Lim. Lim is an Application Server and Information Security Pioneer, Board Member, and Advisor to technology companies. He is founder and chief executive of NextLabs, Inc.

Lim has built and sold numerous internet and software companies, including Sygate Technologies, Escalate, Kiva Software, and Approach Software. His companies reflect his experience and contributions in a range of technologies, including Web and SOA technologies, e-commerce, SaaS, and information security software.

Lim received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his significant contributions to the advancement of technology at IDG's Demo Fall 2009, and was selected as one of the "50 Smartest People" by ZDNet in 2000. He holds over 40 approved and pending patents in internet- and information security-related areas.
