Nexus Group

Nexus Group (NG) is a private equity fund in Peru. It was founded in 1998 by Carlos Rodriguez-Pastor, Jose Antonio Rosas, Rafael Dasso and Alejandro Ponce,[1] with portfolio companies in the industrial sector, goods capital, construction and engineering, consumer and retail.

During their first years, transactions were predominantly "club deals". At this stage, companies such as; Cineplanet, Casa Andina, Supermercados Peruanos and Peruplast were founded. It closed its first institutional fund in 2011- NG Capital Partners I, LP raising US$320 million.[2] Its second institutional fund- NG Capital Partners II, LP, held its final closing in April 2013, exceeding its US$500 million fundraising target to reach the Funds hard cap of US$600 million.[3]

To date, the Fund has led investments in Peruvian companies including; San Miguel Industrias PET (PET bottles company), Financiera Uno (credit card company), Servicio Educativo Empresarial- SEE (operating the technical institute IPAE) and Salud Total (occupational health).[4] In the retail sector; Supermercados Peruanos, Inkafarma and Royal Plaza Shopping Centers, along with NG Restaurants (which includes six chain restaurants), Promart (home improvement), Oechsle (Department Stores), Innova Schools and UTP (higher education).

The firm targets investments between US$30 million and US$60 million, and has attracted commitments from pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, corporations, fund of funds, and offices from several countries. In 2014, the company entered talks to acquire Flexo Spring.[5]
