The Niagara Falls City School District is a school district in Niagara Falls, New York. The district currently has 11 schools. The current Superintendent of Schools is Cynthia A. Bianco.
History
The district was founded in the early 1900s.
In 1953 the district purchased land in Love Canal from Hooker Chemical Company, fully aware that the land had been used as a toxic waste disposal site. This would eventually lead to the Love Canal disaster.[1]
In the year 2000, the state-of-the-art Niagara Falls High School was built, retiring two aging high schools.
