Nick Ellis (ice hockey)

Nick Ellis (born January 18, 1994) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender. He stands 6'1'' tall.

Ellis is currently on the roster of the Bakersfield Condors of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Playing career

A native of Millersville, Maryland, Ellis attended Pomfret School in Connecticut, before joining the Des Moines Buccaneers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) for the 2012-13 campaign.[1]

Ellis started his college career in 2013 at Providence College. He made seven appearances for the Friars during his rookie year.[2] As a junior (2015-16), he had the best season ever by a Providence goalie, recording a 1.80 GAA and .936 save percentage, en route to Hockey East All-Star Honorable Mention status.[3]

On April 7, 2016, Ellis put pen to paper on a two-year entry level contract with the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League (NHL)[4] who sent him to their AHL affiliate Bakersfield Condors on an amateur tryout agreement.[5]
