Nicolae Munteanu (born December 7, 1951 in Braşov) is a former Romanian handball player who competed in the 1976 Summer Olympics, in the 1980 Summer Olympics, and in the 1984 Summer Olympics.
In 1976 he won the silver medal with the Romanian team. He played all five matches as goalkeeper.
Four years later he won the bronze medal as part of the Romanian team. He played all six matches as goalkeeper and scored one goal.
In 1984 he was a member of the Romanian handball team which won again the bronze medal. He played five matches as goalkeeper.
After finishing his playing career, he became a coach managing French sides US Dunkerque (1989-1990, 1991-1992) and HC Antibes (1990-1991)
