Niels Carlsen
Niels Carlsen (8 January 1734 – 3 May 1809) was a Norwegian timber merchant and ship owner. He was born in Drøbak; the son of timber trader Jacob Carlsen. Carlsen was one of the biggest ship owners in Norway of his time. A bust of him, made by Arne Vinje Gunnerud, is located outside the Drøbak Church, which was a donation to Drøbak from him and his wife.[1][2]
